SWINE FLU VACCINATION ALERT Please do not routinely contact the surgery, watch this space for more information. In the coming weeks the Practice will be sending letters out to patients in the following categories inviting them for the Swine Flu Vaccination. We are eager to provide a swine flu vaccination programme for all our patients. As recommended by the Department of Health, the people that will be able to have the vaccine are those whose health is most at risk. Those who have been identified as being most at risk are: • People aged between six months and up to 65 years that have an ongoing health condition such as; asthma and chronic lung disease, chronic heart disease, chronic renal disease, illnesses of the nervous system and diabetes. • People whose immune systems are not working properly due to disease or treatment such as cancer treatment. HIV positive people and people who have had treatment with steroids for a prolonged amount of time. • All pregnant women – from three months onwards. • People aged 65 years and over who have any of the ongoing health conditions listed above.
