The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2025 is Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, with the aim to equip and empower children and young people across the UK to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means to them.

The resources below can help children and young people to discover how getting to know who they are can help them build resilience, grow and develop.

Mindmate has a wealth of materials for children, young people and parents. There’s information on common issues, guidance on how to get help as well as useful resources for self-help and wellbeing.

Reading Well recommends reading to help people deal with worries, feel better, boost their mood or confidence.
The books on the Reading Well list have been specially chosen to help children and young people understand feelings and cope with tough times. You can find the books in your library.

Young Minds

The Young Minds website provides a wide variety of information and advice designed to help improve the mental health of young people up to the age of 25.

Drop In Support Available in Leeds:

Time for Young People, Leeds

“Time for Young People, Leeds” offer a range of different support for common mental health difficulties. Drop in sessions last 30 to 40 minutes, and where appropriate the young person may be offers more structured support which can last up to 10 sessions.

The Market Place

The Market Place offers drop in support for 11 to 25 years olds in Leeds. They also offer a counselling service for 11-17 year olds.

The Drop In service is open every Wednesday and Thursday 3pm – 6pm.
