We know the holiday season can be a difficult time for people for many different reasons. We’ve gathered information and support available If you need mental health support during this period or while we’re closed.

General Support

  • Call the Samaritans any time, day or night
  • TextShoutto 85258
    • Shout is the UK’s first and only free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging service for anyone who is struggling to cope.
  • Visit the MindWell website
    • MindWell is the mental health website for people in Leeds. It contains information on adult mental health and wellbeing support available in Leeds and how to access them. They have a directory of support for lots of different problems.
    • Mindwell have also created a Festive Tool Kit which has helpful tips, resource links and additional support information: Looking after your wellbeing this Christmas – MindWell

Crisis Services

  • NHS 111 – people of all ages in West Yorkshire are able to access local crisis services directly by calling 111 and selecting the mental health option. The NHS 111 number is being rolled out across England as a universal point of access for people experiencing mental health crisis, ensuring that anyone can call NHS 111 for themselves or someone else and have 24/7 access to the mental health support they need in the community.
  • Connect Call 0808 800 1212 (overnight service from 6pm to 1am). Connect is a survivor-led local helpline which offers emotional support and information to people in Leeds every night from 6pm-1am. Connect specialises in working with people at risk of suicide and self-harm and those with complex mental health needs.

Children and young people, parents, carers and professionals can visit the Mindmate website for information and support about their emotional health and wellbeing

Night OWLS

The West Yorkshire overnight service for children, young people and their families and carers.

The Mix

The Mix offer free, confidential support, expert advice and a welcoming community, all designed with and for young people(up to the age of 25) Whether you need help with mental health, relationships, work, money or anything else, you’ll find it here — whenever you need it.

Support if you have an Eating Disorder

Beat provides Helplines for people of all ages, offering support and information about eating disorders no matter where you are in your journey.

Their helpline is open Monday- Friday, 3PM – 8PM, Call: 0808 801 0677(England).
