Home Visits

How we look after our house bound patients.

If you are very ill and unable to travel to the surgery, or you are housebound, a home visit can be arranged with a doctor.

Home visits are not available to patients who have chosen to register with us outside of the practice boundary.

You need to call the surgery on 0113 274 4777 and speak to the receptionist.

Please call the surgery before 10:30 to book your home visit for that day. If you call the surgery after 10.30 we cannot guarantee a home visit and you may be directed to the on call doctor so that your request for a home visit can be assessed.

Home visits are only for those patients who need them. It is essential that you come to the surgery for your appointment where you are able to do so.

It helps us to judge the urgency of the call if you describe the symptoms and also leave a telephone number where possible as your doctor may wish to speak to you.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.

You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
