MindWell
If you’re not sure what support or advice you are looking for, MindWell is a great place to start because it is the mental health website for people in Leeds. They have lots of information about support in the city and different ways to take care of your mental wellbeing.
Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS)
Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (previously known as Leeds IAPT) available for people aged 17 and over, who are registered at a GP practice in Leeds. LMWS offers a number of different services:
Online self-help courses: Free CBT-based courses are available for patients having difficult with panic attacks, stress and anxiety, depression, self esteem, mindfulness or bereavement. You can access these courses immediately here: Omnitherapy
Group Classes: 6 week classes for Overcoming Stress & Low Mood and Depression Recovery. Workshops are also offered to help with issues such as sleep, motivation, worry & panic. You can book onto a course here: Group Classes
Talking Therapy: If you think talking therapy might be right for you, you can refer yourself to Leeds Mental Wellbeing service. Following an assessment, you will be offered the most appropriate treatment. This may be one-to-one or group therapy to assist with your mental health conditions, or an alternative treatment if it’s more suitable for your individual needs. Leeds Mind
Leeds Mind promotes positive mental health and wellbeing, and provides help and support to anyone who needs it in and around Leeds. They offer many services including: counselling, peer support, employment support, suicide bereavement support and creative wellbeing activities.
Live Well Leeds
Live Well Leeds is a Leeds City Council’s mental health support service, working with adults aged 18+ (17+ if they are transitioning from children’s mental health services) who have mild to moderate mental health support needs.
PeerTalk
PeerTalk’s peer support group meetings are for people who experience depression and offer support to their families. A peer support group meets in in Leeds in person every Thursday evening from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Location: The Fairfax Hall, Room 121, Leeds Beckett University, Headingly Campus, LS6 3QT.
There is no need for referrals or bookings, the group is free and there are no waiting lists. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome to call 07719 562617 for a friendly chat beforehand.

Alcohol and Drug Support
Forward Leeds
Helping adults, young people and their families with free confidential alcohol and drug support for people in Leeds. Forward Leeds have an online referral form to refer yourself or someone else for both under 21’s and over 21’s. We can also refer you to the Forward Leeds team.
St Anne’s
St Anne’s is a leading multi-speciality care provider who is devoted to person-centred care. Their services across Yorkshire and the North of England range from dedicated nursing care, supporting living, support for homeless people and support for substance misuse. They operate a leading Residential Alcohol Rehab and Detox Service and Harm Reduction Crisis Service in Leeds. They work with Forward Leeds to support people.
Gambling Support
Northern Gambling Service
The NHS Northern Gambling Service provides specialist addiction therapies and treatment for adults who are experiencing gambling harms and addiction, as well as therapy for any related mental health difficulties.

GamCare
GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling harms. They operate the National Gambling Helpline and provide support for anyone who is harmed by gambling.

Lets talk about loss is a service for you people (18-35) who have experienced a bereavement. They have resources available and online & in person meet ups.
Support for Older People
The Older Peoples Forum
This is a network of third sector organisations working with and for older people. Their website shows activities, groups, information and support around Leeds.

OWLS
OWLS work to reduce loneliness and social isolation for seniors living in Burley, Hyde Park, Little Woodhouse, Headingley and Kirkstall.
OPAL
OPAL supports the over 60’s living in Cookridge, Ireland Wood, Tinshill, Holt Park, Adel and Bramhope – Leeds 16 above the Ring Road.

Step Leeds support people over 60 and cover the West Park & Far Headingley Area of Leeds.
