Everyone living in the UK is entitled to register and consult with a General Practitioner (GP) without charge. It means we can prevent and treat illness early and create a healthier society for everyone.
The Safe Surgeries initiative is a program that aims to ensure everyone, especially vulnerable populations like migrants, can access healthcare without barriers.
We commit to taking steps to tackle the barriers faced by many migrants in accessing healthcare.
Some of these steps are:
- We don’t insist on proof of address documents
- We don’t insist on proof of identification
- Never ask to see a visa or proof of immigration status
- We protect patient information
- We use interpreters, if needed
- Promoting that the practice is a Safe Surgery and a safe space for everyone.
