Burton Croft Travel Clinic

Find out more about how our nurses can assist you in preparing to travel…

Our practice nurses are able to provide travel health advice and information, in a consultation before your trip.

If any vaccinations are suggested which are available on the NHS, our nurses can administer them for you.

Please note that some vaccinations are not provided on the NHS, and we do notoffer private travel vaccinations. You can visit https://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/destinations to check the recommended vaccinations for your destination.

Vaccinations commonly needed for travel that can be provided on the NHS include:

  • Hepatitis A (1x vaccine)
  • Typhoid (1x vaccine)
  • Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio (1x vaccine)

If any vaccinations other than those listed above are recommended for your destination, you will have to consult with a private travel clinic to get them done. Please try to have your private vaccinations done before you come for your appointment here, although we understand this may not always be possible.

There are many private travel clinics available in Leeds which can be found easily through an online search engine.

Please note that some courses require more than one dose over 28 days, and all vaccinations should be given at least two weeks prior to travel.

How do I book in for a travel consultation?

To book a travel consultation, you must please request a ‘Travel Risk Assessment Form’ from our reception team which will be sent to you via text for you to reply to. If you do not have means to accept text messages please let the receptionist know and they will print you a hard copy to fill out and return.

Once you have completed and returned the travel risk assessment form our nursing team will get back in contact with you within 5 working days.

PLEASE NOTE: All travel vaccination appointments must be a minimum of 6 weeks before travel. We are unable to administer any travel vaccinations less than 6 weeks before travel for clinical safety reasons.
